Breaking up with your job

I quit my day job, to take a part time spot.

I've been working in a multi-specialty dental group for nearly four years. It was demanding, stressful, and unfulfilling. So after some serious consideration, I took a job with another dental specialist. What a difference.

It's so quite, slow, and successful. I'm nervous and excited. My hours are crazy and all over the place. I'm making less money. It's further away. And it's better already.

Starting in a new place is always kind of depressing. I don't know anyone, I'm going to eat lunch alone. I'm going to bother everyone with my questions. I'll make a million mistakes. But it's a process, and in three months time I should feel comfortable. That's usually how long I think it takes to learn everything, know everyone, and have a real opinion on where you are.

In the meantime, I'm pushing for cake business. Now that I'll have more time for it. I worked on some beauties so far.
Later On that night, we lit this cake up with over 30 candles ;)

I am absolutely thrilled with the way these came out.

So this weekend we have a big Sweet 16 job on top of new job training. It will be a long weekend but hopefully by Sunday I'll drag the husband out to take a Christmas card picture somewhere scenic. We never sent out Thank You's so this is my solution ;). I'm also working on some around the house crafts including some wall art, redoing a $5 mirror, hacking my Ikea coffee table, and revitalizing some storage cube ottoman/seats. Stay tuned.
